some drawings again

these next two drawings were done while sitting in my favorite movie theatre, the Castro Theatre in san fransisco. This one was really quick, as the organist played before the feature started.

and this one was real quick too, this guy snuck a beer in
I think i've been to a lot of the theatres in the bay area, and the Castro is the best, It has the most wonderful atmosphere, combined with excellent programming.

It was designed by Timothy Pflueger, one of the greatest bay area architects. He built an even greater theatre a few years after in Oakland, the Paramount theatre, which is world famous as an art deco treasure.

If you live in San Fransisco or the Bay area, you really owe it to yourself to see a movie there sometime. they choose a healthy mix of films, from arthouse stuff, new and old classics, to animation, to silent films, and even mainstream things, something for everyone.

These are fantastic, makes me wish there was a lucrative job out there for you just drawing people in the city.

I meant to ask a few posts back, does Bill actually teach his approach to watercolors? I haven't taken a class from him yet, but have seen him use them in workshops and the costume carnival.

Your stuff is awesome. Great line work.

I been to the castro one time for the Dave Choe movie. Do they always have that old guy playing the piano?

ed-he does teach a course once in a while called color and value, but i have never taken it.

i don't know exactly what there is to teach, he simply colors things, separating shapes by different colors and values, pretty standard painting approach with an emphasize on design.

tony- sometimes they don't play the organ, but majority of time there is someone playing it.

thanks!
