draw a creature based on this description
this is a fun little game to play when you can't think of what to draw, you write down a simple description, thats limiting and not limiting at the same time, containing maybe 5 - 10 things you are gonna put in the drawing, i came up with this:
4 arms, 3 eyes, insect wings, arms longer than torso, reptile tail, elepant legs, claws
then i promised to stick with it, and set my time limit at 20 mins to come up with a design and simple color pattern, i made 5 and then got bored

p.s. i'm very glad the colts won.

2 dean cornwell value studies
2 studies from paintings by dean cornwell, i tried to see the values for what they were but i was pretty off in some places. doing master copies is possibly the best way to learn art. you get more intimate with a painting then is possible by simply looking, you start to understand process and relationships
dean cornwell is one of my favorite artists ever.
i used black and white acrylic paint and black and white pencil on paper

4 doodles
these are 4 very free flowing doodles, trying to think of some sort of little story or something to turn into a composite or book cover/movie poster type of illustration
I saw a great movie the other day, the day of the Jackel, it's one of the best thrillers i ever saw, they made a remake with bruce willis which is not as good at all. speaking of great thriller movies, firewall with harrison ford is Awesome! who would of thought, well harrison never dissapoints

demon drawing
I saw a really excellent film yesterday,Au revoir, les enfants by louis malle, my favorite film by him is still Ascenseur pour l'échafaud
I want to see more of his movies, they are never a dissapointment. i also saw the film Pan's Labyrinth, I was very dissapointed, I wanted to love it, but it was just too simple flat and empty. the movie was beautiful but it lacked that extra soul that makes a film a masterpiece, del toro's movies are always missing something i think, in my opinion the devils backbone is his best, although i would recomend pan's labyrinth because it is so pretty looking and magical. ultimatly i hope he makes more movies, because with each one he is improving on his unique vision.
here is a drawing, another experiment with everything at my disposal, basically: acrylic, pencil, marker and pen
