orange background
here's a drawing i did, it was over a bad figure drawing in blue pencil, then i drew in a monster head in a bic pen, used some marker in some places, using a 70 percent cool grey a celery green and a cad red, added some lights in white goache and then layed in an orange background by mixing some white, some naples yellow and some cad red, i was gonna crop it so the background was a perfect orange rectangle but i liked the paintstrokes around the bleed so i left it un cropped. i think i did some other stuff too i cant remember, looks like i used a blue pencil aswell
these composite images are so fun to make, just letting elements occupy the same space on a page and making it work

markers
to answer your question Jason, i use 3 brands
AD -Tria - Prismacolor
maybe later i can try and write a cohesive marker manifesto ...
i always have test pages like this lying around, because when you are coloring something you have the test page on the side so you can check a markers condition on the side, if its too grainy then maybe you need to through it out or sometimes its not the color you thought you wanted

bunch of doodles
some of the ones with unusual texture were drawn while i was sitting in pouring rain, so the paper got soaked, it was a lot of fun
