soldiers from a photo

just an experiment drawing from an old photo from WW2, it's orange pastel, black and white acrylic, and charcoal, painted on an olive-ish color Mat board, super fun to paint this way, using the charcoal whenever i wanted i could redraw the drawing at anytime, and using the fast drying acrylics i could push and pull values very easily, if i wanted a subtle value change i would just smear the charcoal, and that worked great too. also ignoring color made it so i only focused on value, however by having an underdrawing in a color it gave a lot of life to the grey painting.

and as usual i just find it a bit boring to copy from anything too exactly, so i didnt really worry about that part, it was just a sort of experiment afterall, with the goal to get a mood and paly with a technique rather than get any tight rendering done

It seems I'm on the right track, I hope I can do well. The result was something I did and was doing to implement it.
